For the COVID-19 diagnostics market, it offers Xpert Xpress SARS-CoV-2/Flu/RSV. Cepheid has operated as a wholly owned subsidiary of Danaher Corp. since being acquired in 2016.

Cepheid’s  systems enable molecular testing for organisms and genetic-based diseases by automating laboratory procedures. Its primary offering is the GeneXpert system, which integrates sample preparation in addition to DNA amplification and detection. The GeneXpert system is designed for reference laboratories, hospital central laboratories and satellite testing locations, such as emergency departments and ICUs within hospitals as well as physician offices and other alternate site laboratories.
