Company Overview
Italian energy business Eni S.p.A. was established in 1953 and has its headquarters in Rome. Eni is a multinational energy company with a high technological content. It is involved in every step of the value chain, including the discovery, extraction, and development of oil and natural gas, as well as the production of electricity using cogeneration and renewable energy sources, conventional and biorefining, chemical, and circular economy processes. Eni expands its market reach by supplying services for energy efficiency and sustainable transportation and retail gas, electricity, and other goods to regional markets, consumers, and commercial clients. The company operates in 62 countries with 32,188 employees as of 2022.

Company's Business Segments
- Exploration and Production : This segment engages in oil and natural gas exploration and field development and production, as well as in LNG operations.
- Global Gas and LNG Portfolio and Power : This segment engages in the wholesale activity of supplying and marketing gas via pipeline and LNG, maximizing supply of equity gas/LNG, wholesale marketing of electricity and international transport activity.
- Refining and Chemicals : The Refining business engages in refining crude oil to manufacture fuels and in wholesale marketing activities, which primarily consist of inter-company supply of refined products to the Group subsidiary Enilive and sales to large accounts. In the Chemical business Eni, through its wholly owned subsidiary Versalis, engages in the production and marketing of basic chemical products, plastics and elastomers.
- Enilive : It engages in the manufacturing of biofuels at the Italian plants of Venice and Gela and through the Chalmette JV in the USA, whilst advancing expansion plans in Italy and South-East Asia.
- Plenitude : It engages in the activities of retail marketing of gas, power and related services and a large customer base in Italy and in the Rest of Europe.
- Other Income and Revenues : This segment include the costs of the main business support functions, as well as the results of the Group environmental clean-up and remediation activities performed by the subsidiary Eni Rewind and of the businesses engaged in developing the projects for CO2 capture and storage and/or utilization and agricultural hubs to ensure supply of bio-feedstock to the Group’s biorefineries.
