Rodenburg Biopolymers
Company Snapshot
Company Overview
Incorporated in 1945, Rodenburg Biopolymers B.V. is involved in the production, development and sales of biodegradable polymers. The company’s product offerings are primarily made from renewable sources (reclaimed potato, grain, root or seed-based flours). The company offers three biodegradable, biobased products: Solanyl, FlourPlast pre-compounds and Optinyl masterbatches.
Solanyl BP is derived from Solanum tuberosum, which means potato. Solanyl BP is based on a side-stream potato starch from the potato processing industry. These granules can be compounded and processed with natural fibers or with other biopolymers. Solanyl product offerings can be processed through conventional plastic processing methods: injection molding, sheet extrusion, thermoforming and blow molding. This product is used in various markets: food packaging, shopping bags, groundwork and promotion, sports, toys and leisure.
