VALTRIS SPECIALTY CHEMICALS
Company Snapshot
Company Overview
Valtris Specialty Chemicals acquired AMCO Chemicals in April 2015. Akcros Chemicals started in England in 1937 as a specialty chemical company called Lankro Chemicals. Over the years, it expanded and joined with other companies. It was acquired by Akzo Nobel in 1998, and then acquired by Grove Industries Ltd., a British private equity company, in 2007. Akcros Chemicals had production plants in the U.S., China, Europe and India. It expanded its New Jersey plant in 2015 for greater production of PVC powder stabilizers. The acquirement helps Valtris Specialty Chemicals gain manufacturing and increased market presence in Europe and India.
Akcros Chemicals supplied a wide line of plastics additives, including antioxidants, antistatic agents, biocides, blowing agents, flame retardants, light stabilizers, mixed metal and nonphthalate PVC stabilizers, titanium dioxide colorants and processing aids. Many of its trade names start with Akcro or Lankro.
