Survey of Library Plans to Provide Recharging for Mobile Devices

The study provides data from 39 public and academic libraries about their current policies and plans to provide in-library recharging stations and other recharging options for mobile devices such as laptops, netbooks, tablets, smartphones and other mobile devices. The study gives detailed information on spending, brand preference, forms of equipment needed, strategic citing in the library and other facets of the means to provide the growing number of library users with their own mobile devices with adequate charging capability in the library. The report also looks at the issue of what is an adequate number and proper strategic provision of electric outlets in libraries.
