Company Overview

Founded in 1989, Ocean Optics Inc. is engaged in the development and support of photonics technologies. Its products include fiber-optic UV-VIS-NIR spectrometers; Raman spectrometers for process control and other applications; fiber-optic chemical sensors for measuring oxygen and pH; patterned dichroic optical filters and precision coatings for display and telecommunications applications; optical fibers, assemblies and probes; optical networking products; light sources and sensors; tools for thin-film measurement, plasma analysis and optical characterization; and accessories, including collimating lenses, cuvettes and holders, flow cells and sampling systems.

Its products are used in absorbance, emission and reflectance reference, as well as original equipment manufacturer and science curricula applications. The company primarily serves the consumer electronics, process control, life sciences and medical diagnostics markets. It has sales, service and support facilities in Duiven, The Netherlands; Ostfildern, Germany; and Shanghai, China. It also has an electro-optic-systems manufacturing facility in Winter Park, Fla. Ocean Optics Inc. has been a subsidiary of Halma PLC since June 10, 2004.
